Weekend Split with Kirkwood
Gotta play hard for all three periods
Last weekend we had two games against Kirkwood. The first one on Saturday we were not focused and not ready. We came out and banged two goals in right away but could not keep the throttle down in the second period. We loss control of the game and played in our own end. We lost 4-3.
The second game we came out angry and ready to win. We played in their end most of the game and had few breakdowns leading to goals. They did not know what hit them!!
We won 7-3.
All in all, the first game I think we came down to their level of play, when we should of played Spirit Hockey. But we did improve a lot in the last game. It was a good weekend!!
Coach's Note: We came out and scored on the first shift in both games this past weekend taking an early lead and control of each game. On Saturday, we lost focus and let Kirkwood take control of the game and couldn't recover. On Sunday we were better prepared and kept our focus better which resulted in a victory. Tyler Caine led the charge working hard at his center position killing penalties and pressuring the net. Tyler had a goal and an assist and was +3 on Sunday and for his efforts received the Hard Hat.
