Both defenses were solid, but Springfield Spirit Peewees was superior against Meramec 2 - 1 at Fenton on Saturday. Neither team scored in the first period. Springfield Spirit Peewees added two straight goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. Meramec scored one goal in the third period but it was not enough to close the gap, so they lost the game.

Trevor West and Markus Campos each tallied one goal for Springfield Spirit Peewees. Morsovillo, Lehman, and Hazelrigg each contributed one assist for Springfield Spirit Peewees.

This was the season opener for Meramec but Springfield Spirit Peewees entered the game with a record of 13-5.
