| Frequently Asked Questions SYHA SEASON The regular season typically consists of ten home and ten away games and practices twice a week for each division except Mites. The season usually begins with a couple of mandatory declaration games around the end of August to determine level of play for our teams. PRACTICES & GAMES Practice for all teams will begin the week of September 21st Practices take place on Monday and Thursday evenings at Mediacom Ice Park. The regular season games start around November 1st. The season ends with playoff games in March. SYHA COSTS Costs vary from season to season, ranging from approximately $400 for younger players (Mites) to $1,000 for older players (Midgets) This fee covers all game and practice costs, but each plyaer/family is responsible for their own travel and equipment expenses. Part of equipment for new players at the Mite and Squirt level is available at no to minimal cost. All games are played within driving distance of Springfield, typically in the areas of St. Louis, Kansas City, Jefferson City, and/or Springdale, Arkansas AGES FOR PLAYER DIVISIONS Age is based upon the player's age on January 1st. Midget - 15 - 18 Bantam - 13- 14 Peewee - 11 - 12 Squirt - 9 - 10 Mite - 8 or under COACHES Each team has a Head Coach, First Assistant Coach and Team Manager, who are appointed and approved by the SYHA Board of Directors each year.
